THE CREATION OF MASTERPIECE
Dyeing
The dyeing process is an art and traditionally has been executed
by master dyers
Weaving
Each carpet intricate design is achieved through the painstaking
alteration of colour knot-by-knot, line-by-line. The average
weaver can tie 10,000 to 14,000 knots a day.
Washing
To bring out the inimitable luster of fine quality wool the
rug is washed.
Burning
Heat is used to clean the back of the rug and to clear excess
pile
Shearing
The growing touch is the final shearing and carving of the
pile.
Edging
Protective edges are put on. The warp loops are cut and often
knotted to form a protective and decorative fringe.
